Anthony Caldwell is a native of East Liverpool, Ohio, and an alumnus of East Liverpool High School. He pursued his higher education at Youngstown State University, majoring in Marketing and Public Relations, with a minor in Communications.

During his time in college, Anthony actively contributed to his community by working at a local community action agency, where he assisted individuals facing utility bill disconnections. He later took on the role of a Family Service Worker with the agency's Head Start program, further demonstrating his dedication to helping those in need.

 

Anthony takes immense pride in being a supportive father to a Westland High School graduate turned Ohio State Buckeye and remains involved in the district's various booster programs.

 

Anthony's commitment to community service is evident through his active involvement in various boards and associations. Since January 2020, he has been serving on the Board of Education for the South-Western City School District where he currently serves as President.

In December 2022, he became a member of the Board of Trustees for the Westland Area Business Association in Columbus, Ohio. Additionally, since 2021, he has been an esteemed member of the Board of Trustees for the Ohio School Boards Association, and as of 2023, he has assumed the role of President-Elect, Central Region, within the Ohio School Boards Association.

 

Over the years, Anthony has garnered an impressive track record of bridging the gap between individuals with diverse political backgrounds, both at the Ohio Statehouse and in Washington. He has focused on addressing issues related to poverty, healthcare, and public policy to enhance the lives of working-class people and their families.

 

Anthony serves as the Director of Governmental Affairs & Political Advocacy at the Ohio Nurses Association in Columbus, Ohio. In this role, he collaborates with organizational leadership to strategize and achieve long and short-term legislative goals, garner bipartisan support for key bills, and influence rule changes. Additionally, Anthony acts as a liaison with crucial partners, including the Ohio Department of Health, Ohio Department of Aging, Ohio Board of Nursing, Department of Developmental Disabilities, and Columbus Health Department. He also conducts research and analysis of state policies affecting the nursing profession, healthcare, and workplace standards, advocating for issues such as staffing, licensure, and labor laws. Through this position, Anthony educates and motivates association members to engage with policymakers on priority matters both at the statehouse and within the district.

His dedication to public service and advocacy has played a significant role in improving the lives of countless individuals and families.
